Admitted to Supreme Court of South Australia in 1972, Barrister Richard Mellows has had substantial and broad-ranging experience in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on family, inheritance, compensation and commercial litigation.
Chair of the Administrative Law Committee, Law Society of SA, Richard has also been a member of, the Council of Law Society of SA, Family Law Committee of Law Society of SA and Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
He has appeared in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and District Court in appeals, trials and mediation and at interlocutory hearings. Similarly, in the context of family law, he has appeared in the Family Court, the Full Court as well as at trial and interlocutory level, in property and childrens’ matters.
His Federal Court work has included areas, such as trade practices, bankruptcy, human rights, administrative law, superannuation, compensation and insurance issues.
