Volunteering at Minda
Join the Minda Community. Become a volunteer!
Here at Minda, we are all about community, the people we support, our staff, volunteers, students, and our neighbours.
Volunteering at Minda is primarily about people enriching and empowering the lives of people with disability, however as a volunteer you’ll have the opportunity to develop and expand your skill base, meet new people, explore career development, and discover training opportunities.
We are so grateful for the support of volunteers. We couldn’t achieve what we do without you!
Current Volunteer Vacancies
Gift Wrapping
Minda has a long standing partnership with Adelaide Arcade where a team of fantastic volunteers give up their time to wrap gifts for the community and raise money for Minda. There are two wrapping events throughout the year - Mother's Day and Christmas. Gift wrapping services are available the Friday and Saturday before Mother's Day and from 1-24 December in the lead up to Christmas. All funds raised helps us to do more for the people we support.
YOUR ROLE: Volunteers are split up into 3-hour shifts across the gift wrapping days.
Acoustic Guitarist
Do you love the spotlight, have great acoustic entertainment skills, and are as free as a bird on Fridays from 4pm-6pm? If yes, then we want YOU! INC Café, a fully inclusive café located on Minda’s North Brighton site, is looking for a volunteer guitarist to celebrate the end of the working week at our weekly Happy Hour event. INC offers an inclusive and family friendly space with food and drink specials available each Friday night and is just minutes from the beach. It’s the perfect spot for a wind down after a long week paired with good food, good drinks, and good music.
YOUR ROLE: Perform a few sets of acoustic music on Friday afternoons between 4pm and 6pm with the option for additional opportunities!
Community Connector at INC Cafe
Help Minda build a more connected neighbourhood by sharing your skills, interest and passion with others and run weekly, fortnightly, or monthly inclusive activities. If you enjoy socialising, have a passion for community engagement, are committed to a regular pattern of volunteering and have good communication skills, we'd love to hear from you! From mums and bubs groups to a book club or needle work sessions - the sky is the limit!
YOUR ROLE: Facilitate inclusive activities or workshops from INC Cafe for our clients and the community to get involved in.
Volunteer types
Get involved by providing direct support. This may be supporting a person with intellectual disability, administration support, helping in the garden or on a special project.
Lend a hand with fundraising by Christmas Gift Wrapping in Adelaide Arcade or helping out at our events.
The benefit to our people and to the students who volunteer is an experience that both parties find extremely rewarding.
Our volunteer specialist will work with your organisation to identify a project that suits your team and of course, is of great value to the people we support.
