Minda in the North

Our Minda in the North (MITN) day options program based at Elizabeth has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senior Manager, Lifestyle Services, Dale Govett says the program was closed earlier this week following further restrictions on community gatherings announced by the Prime Minister and to keep clients as safe as possible.

“We are now offering a mentoring or one-on-one service to our MITN clients,” Dale says.

“We are doing what we can to assist our clients and families through this time.”

With the MyPATH programs based at Minda Brighton already replaced with in-home and one-on-one options, Dale says the current day options services being offered at Minda are not only helping clients and families, but have also provided much reward for our staff.

“COVID-19 has meant we’ve had to be creative about how we do things, and while it’s been a big change, I think we’re gradually seeing people’s spirits lift,” he says.

“Especially with our one-on-one activities, I think morale seems to be a little bit higher each day.”
