International Volunteer Day (IVD) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985 to acknowledge all those people who dedicate their much needed time and skills to community organisations and is celebrated worldwide.
In line with this official, global day of recognition on December 5 2009, Minda is formally recognising the amazing dedication and support of its volunteers with a barbeque luncheon and a Certificate of Appreciation on Tuesday 8 December at Marion Sports and Community Centre.
Minda has 363 registered volunteers who work tirelessly and have contributed an amazing 8,500 hours of their time throughout 2009. They really are fundamental in assisting the organisation to meet its goals in helping those with an intellectual disability lead fulfilling lives.
Minda would like to congratulate each and every volunteer for their boundless dedication and commitment to South Australians living with intellectual disability.
