Michael has a personal connection to people with disabilities as both his sister and aunt have an intellectual disability. This has driven a need to help people with disabilities through involvement in Boards. Michael has held a board position at Araluen Centre in Victoria, a similar but smaller organisation to Minda and continues to act as a trustee for the Araluen Foundation.
Michael has over 20 years management experience in a number of industries including meat and livestock, but primarily in the construction industry originating at his family's civil construction business where he managed it for 5 years. Michael has also held various roles with his current employer Boral, in areas such as strategy, sales, project management and currently in his role as Regional General Manager Boral Construction Materials SA.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering ( University of Melbourne), an MBA (Melbourne Business School) a Certificate iv in Occupational Health and safety and has completed the Institute of Company Director's Course.
Michael is delighted to join the Minda Board and bring his long experience in construction and business management. He is also looking forward to being a part of the development of the Minda Master Plan and draw on his passion for improving the facilities on the Brighton campus.
