Michael is the newest Board member, having been appointed in November 2011 as a Family member. Michael has a teenage daughter who is intellectually disabled and has autism. She currently uses Minda respite services. His entire family’s experience of his daughter’s disability has lead to a strong commitment to improving the well-being of people with an intellectual disability.

Michael is excited by the opportunity to contribute to Minda during a period of great change, which should provide opportunities to improve Minda services, facilities and organisational capacity and so help to improve the lives of South Australians living with an intellectual disability and their families.

Michael has worked in State Government in agriculture, natural resource management and water resources management for 20 years. He has held a range of positions with roles in project development and delivery; regional, state and national policy development and advice; and regional planning with statutory authorities. Michael brings to the Board, skills and experience in strategic planning, policy development, and community consultation. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science (NRM), and post-graduate qualifications in counselling and public sector management.
